Pre-Conference Meetings
Over the past few days Christian Surfers International have held a series of meetings to pray for, plan and discuss the future of our mission.
Beginning on Thursday with the International Leadership Team, made up of our current six Regional Coordinators, along with our International Director Roy Harley, our Founder / Adviser, Brett Davis, our Operations Manager, Casey Cruciano, and our Communications Manager, Aaron Hughes, then growing on Friday with the Expanded ILT, consisting of our new mini-Regional Coordinators and also service reps, like our International Chaplaincy Coordinator Andy Pitt and Resource Manager, Michael Croft.
Following those day-long meetings was our big one. Our international representative Council meets face-to-face just once every two years and this took place at the Gathering venue on Saturday. The Council is primarily made up of the National Director of each affiliate and their Board chair, as well as the CS International Board Members.
Leaders representing 15 nations were present, with an additional 23 nations engaging in the process. We gathered to appoint board members, approve strategy and budget, and agree to changes to our constitution.
All day meetings don’t come easily for many surfers, but we were rewarded with pumping waves on the beautiful beaches of Hossegor, with wetsuits being thrown on almost as soon as the meeting finished!
