Living Water by Nina Coons

Heaven is my throne, and the earth my footstool. Where is the house you will build for me?... Has not my hand made all these things, and so they came into being? These are the ones I look on with favor: those who are humble and contrite in spirit.” Isaiah 66:1

The Lord through his grace has allowed us to do every good thing! What an important lesson: apart from God, we are nothing and must humbly stand before Him. He longs to be a part of our everyday life. Surfers depend on waves to surf. You can paddle out when there’s no swell, but with no waves you will never be able to surf. Surfers follow the waves just as Christians follow Christ, keeping Christ at the center and trusting His will. It is stress free to live for Christ because it takes the focus away from our shortcomings and rather focuses on the grace of Jesus Christ which allows His Holy Spirit to empower us to do His will! It is exciting to realize that God is the worker of everything good, and it's humbling to know that He allows us to take part in his plan. My friend shared a verse with me:

“Does the ax raise itself above the person who swings it? Or the saw boast against the one who uses it? As if a rod were to wield the person who lifts it up…” Isaiah 10:15

The Lord is the one who will enable us to do everything that aligns with His will! So if you feel lost, hopeless, or tired, turn to Jesus with your request. I pray that we can learn to trust and depend on him! It's like the groms in our lineup with their parents. The grom trusts in their dad that he will teach them and push them on the best wave. The dad is depending on the right wave to come for his child to ride. Jesus is the dad because He is the one who teaches us how to live our life. He is also the wave because He is the one who provides our opportunities and plans our steps. We just get to be the groms who depend on their Father.
