I have experienced relationship with God here in Hawaii. As I take a quiet moment to reflect, I think of the example of the sun reflecting off the surface of a beautiful ocean and my thoughts come to life. I reflect on being so thankful for the strength I’ve found here. There is no way I can’t share! It is only by grace that I still have the ability to paddle out here in the Pacific and take on the power that comes this way.

Words cannot put into a picture the power and beauty here in Hawaii. It humbles you quickly. It challenges you to the greatest. It drives you to the depths, pushed down where you never were before. It demands respect, yet it can bring healing beyond imagination.

God’s word clearly states in the beginning, in Genesis 1:2, that “the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.” The presence of God has always been in the ocean, and as surfers, we feel God’s presence and his healing in it.

So, where in the world can you experience the power of the ocean at a max? Only a few! Only a few! Here on the North Shore of Hawaii at Sunset Beach, all that power is on display. There is no better place to meet with fellow believers and experience God’s power in the natural and in spirit. It’s just simply breathtaking! Now in the midst of the beauty and power and influence of Hawaii's North Shore, stands a presence called Christian Surfers. It is out of the church walls, positioned to meet the hurting surfing world. Sunset beach is a place people come to see the physical sun, but some will ultimately encounter much more; a relationship with the eternal Son, Jesus our Savior.  Aloha!
