Sunrise to Sunset
As Surfers we have all gotten some epic front row seats to some awesome sunrises and sunsets. My favorite is when the sun touches the horizon, with no clouds in the sky and as far as the eye can see, the water meets the sky. It reminds me of the scripture in Psalm 103:12, “As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.” The vastness of the horizon is how far the Lord has taken our sin away from us. As we enter the new year let’s be reminded about how the Lord has made us new and saved us.
He is the one who removes sin, He is the one who gives us a new life. When the doubts try to bring us down, that we are not set free. That we will never overcome our past. That we are not good enough to be a child of God. We need to cling to the promises of the gospel, “He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of HIS mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit” (Titus 3:5). We are new, clean, reconciled! We can enter this year living that out by forgetting the old and living for the new. By God’s grace we can live in Christ’s Will, answering the calls He has put in our lives. Knowing that Jesus has removed anything that could hinder you from living life to the full.
