HELLO EVERYONE

I’m Marcos Santos, married to Cândida, father of two boys (João & Estevão) and we are a surf family on a mission for the Lord, we live in between the surf tribe living in Garopaba, Santa Catarina state, Brazil.

With my wife’s support I have lived a wonderful experience for more than two decades of walking with surfers, CS family members, staff and competitors at events (championships where I play the role of chaplain). I can see the impact Gods presence has through being present with people in many surfing tribes and I have gained confidence as I have seen God open doors to incredible moments of counseling, emotional support and guidance in the light of the Word of God. I can rejoice before God to be his messenger and ambassador. I am grateful for lives saved, crises pacified, marriages & families restored by the power of God working through his love, grace and his Word..

A bit of my history

I was reached through Christian Surfers in Brasil in July 1996. Through this mission I have served for thirty years approximately. I've always loved to live my interpersonal relationships intensely and I realized my gift as an evangelist almost immediately when I was called by the Lord in the surf tribe's environment. I have always lived in my local area since childhood (I started surfing at 8 & being a competitor for 20 years) I have history here and this is where I collected a lot of colleagues and friends. As I studied God’s Word throughout discipleship & Presbyterian theological seminary I could hear the Lord testify that I should go ahead among the surfers obeying the “GO”, Mark 16:15 and soon I had a clear understanding that the Lord would help me to “use and multiply the talents He had already given me” Matthew 25:14-24.

I became a Pastor in 2006 and but It was always very sure that the Lord's vision for my life was to “use my history, skills and passion for surfing to connect with other lives and thus share the Holy Gospel in the language of my tribe; the world surfing tribe.”

Support Whats Next

Keep working as the chaplain for the Brazilian confederation of surfing along the circuits (it's about 12 stages along the huge Brazilian coast line), keep training new surf chaplains & being a Surfistas de Cristo/Christian Surfers ambassador where I go helping to start new chapters & giving support to our mission crew.

I also want to continue serving locally with my family. Partnering and giving financially allows me to serve in pastoral care for the local surf community that we are living in and serve as a family in Garopaba- Santa Catarina to the surfers, their families & staff members there. This is such a great way to reach this flock & give them the opportunity to listen to the gospel, receive love & get saved by the Lord.

To achieve these things I need to raise financial support through monthly giving or one-off gifts. Our financial goals are to raise R$2.700 / USD$530 to complete our family budget.

For mission costs R$3.000 / USD$600 to cover airfares to attend competitions and events to get alongside people. Other travel costs for these trips include; accommodation, food, resources to give & extra costs along the journey.
