The Radical Red Tide Challenge
We absolutely love this little initiative by Surf Church; The Radical Red Tide Challenge.
As you know, COVID-19 has had a dramatic effect on local businesses globally. And thus Surf Church has proposed a solution with an online surf contest! If this initiative gets you frothed, try implement in your local CS group! And if you’re living in the San Diego area, best you get those surf clips together and start entering.

Surf Church Presents: The Radical Red Tide Challenge
Calling all San Diego surfers to participate! Shred and support local businesses and the international surf community impacted by COVID-19.
To enter follow the steps below:
1. Gather your best surfing clips from May 2020 and upload them via this page. Clips will be judged across the following categories: Best Maneuver, Best Tube, Best Combo, Best Flow (Style), Best Overall Grom's, Men’s, Women’s. Maximum four entries per competitor. Clips must be from San Diego county (Mexico Border to Oceanside). Please respect the social distancing and beach rules - have your filmer walk on the beach or film from the water, use a GoPro, surf in front of the Surfline cams or get creative in order to get your clips.
2. Submit your clips anytime before May 30 via this link (Link in @surfchurchsd Instagram bio)
3. Clips will be judged by a selection of local experts. More to come on judging panel and criteria soon...
4. On May 30th final results will be announced via live stream and division winners will receive prizes that have been purchased from local businesses. Prizes per division will be gift cards from the following: Wheat and Water, Birds Surf Shed, El Pescador Fish Market, South Coast Surf Shop and Joe Roper’s Ding Repair. All entrants will be entered into a lucky draw raffle to win a new surfboard.
