Thursday Evening Session
Thursday evening of our International Gathering turned into a celebration of the women in our movement.
For the first time ever we had almost exactly even numbers of men and women attend.
After interviewing four women involved in different levels of our ministry, including international board member Ruth Salcedo, CS Australia National Women’s Coordinator Jessi Muir, CSUK Women’s Coordinator Jess Foy and CS France National Director Audrey Harrison, all of the women in attendance were called onto the stage in appreciation of their involvement in Christian Surfers. For all involved it was an extremely powerful moment, especially considering the challenges many women have faced within surf culture.
One thing we all look forward to every time is the announcement of the location of our next gathering and this year didn’t disappoint as Phil Williams and Jimmy Kaiser took to the stage to announce that SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA will play host to our 2020 International Gathering!!!
A beautiful time of worship and communion, led by Eric Arakawa, followed next as we celebrated the love and sacrifice that Jesus has showed us.
